Fold or start with a heart

 o Try different folds -- cutting different shapes for each fold or

 o Cut different kinds of edges.

 o Use thin white paper to make a fan or an accordion fold. (Back and forth.)

o Use paper punch for round holes.

o Cut an interesting edge and mount on colored paper.

 Encourage original ideas.

o Make hearts three dimensional by putting them on hinges.

o Use scraps of tissue paper to make flowers and paste them around the edge.

o If you happen to have an old bird cage around home it will make a fine valentine box for a room. Bird cages, painted pink or gold, may be decorated a bit with fancy frills and hung in a room. The cage will spin like a mobile.

o Make textured surfaces by cutting and folding back.
