I feel ....

Positive as well as negative feelings are common after teaching a lesson. Identifying and admitting feelings helps a teacher accept what cannot be changed and helps him/her make improvements where possible.

I did well with ...

It is important to give yourself credit for things done well. Small negative experiences can easily overshadow important positive experiences. Compliments from others may be rare. Dwelling continually on the negative can bring discouragement.

Those things which contributed to my success....

Good planning, enthusiasm, knowledge, contributions of students, and good choices of materials can help make a fine lesson. Try to identify why aspects of a lesson went well.

I could improve....

Identify specific areas for improvement. Small tasks and reasonable goals help insure success.

These people could help me....

Colleagues, students, writers, producers of available audio visual material as well as relatives and friends may be able to assist with lessons. Ask for specific help and the results may often be gratifying.

These resources would be good to explore....

Media centers contain a wealth of professional literature and related content materials. Identify or ask a specialist to help locate such materials.

I can help myself by....

Brainstorming ways of helping oneself gives confidence and develops competence. Years of learning provide a teacher with a wealth of personal ideas.
