Plastic Pocket Puppet

Cut a standard hand puppet shape from a piece of cloth. Sew a piece of acetate to the facial area on one piece. Leave an opening at the top. Slip faces behind the acetate. Use faces you have found in clip art, draw you own, or cut them from recent newspapers, magazines, or old books.

Make an acetate pocket wide enough to hold the faces. Flexible plastic like that used for storm windows may be sewn to a separate piece of fabric with a sewing machine. Leave a wide fabric seam allowance to turn under as it is hand stitched to the puppet head.

A clear plastic pocket on the back can hold information about the character.
