Skills
Two or three very specific skills are identified which can be easily taught with the content selected for a unit. Eventually only one may be taught systematically to a given class in that unit.
Communication skills and skills related to working with others would be good choices for units about groups of people. These should not be written in a general way.
1. Working in a group. (Too general.)
2. Communicating with others. (Too general.)
Here are some possibilities.
1. Distinguishing between work that can best be done by one individual and that which needs cooperative efforts.
2. Respecting the statements of others by showing attentiveness and making appropriate responses.
1. Asking questions to obtain specific desired information.
2. Asking questions which show respect for the other person.
3. Analyzing a question in order to know how to answer.
