9. COLLABORATION, ETHICS AND RELATIONSHIPS: The practitioner fosters relationships with parents, school colleagues, and organizations in the larger community to support students' learning and development.

A. Be aware of and begin to participate in parent/teacher groups, national, state and local science organizations, and local community agencies that promote greater understanding of science and society.

B. Recognize the contribution of the National Science Teachers Association to the teaching profession and use their guidelines in professional preparation.

C. Be knowledgeable of national standards in the area of science and use these guidelines in preparing to teach.
